Thought we’d take a little time to introduce you to some of the people out there riding our Premium BMX Platform Pedal Straps. They boys at RVA Fixed have been helping us out by pushing the limits on our straps. It’s based on their recommendations that we shored up the old design making them virtually indestructible. An update on pedal straps

Our pedal straps were originally an alternative to cages and permanently mounted straps. The original prototypes worked perfectly for us as commuters so we decided to test their function and durability by sending a few pairs to our friends in Richmond.

The boys loved them and gave us the feedback we needed to improve the design. As trick track riders they put our straps to the ultimate test. See for yourself…

So, we’ve shored them up with the following modifications:

double layer of triple-stitched heavy-weight polypro webbing
stash spot
optional recycled billboard closure

And now, we are introducing a Premium line specifically designed to withstand extra abuse.

added outer layer of 16oz PVC vinyl to protect from pedal drag
vinyl reinforced straps for extra hold and protection against pedal wear

They remain hardware-free, putting no unnecessary strain on pedals or cranks and come available in an assortment of colors and patterns to match your style. Here’s an unwrapping video courtesy of RVA Fixed for your viewing pleasure…

Burro Photo Shoot (Ezra Marcos)

Last week our new friend and local photographer came by the shop to snap some new pics for us. We had too much fun drinking beers with some babes doing lifestyle shots, action shots, and even a few in the dirt (we keep it sleazy). The shots turned out fantastic and you can view a sample collage on Ezra’s blog.

Not only is he a great photographer, he also has a big heart and will be in Five Points on Sunday raising money for the people of Haiti co-sponsored by Burro and Anomaly. From his blog:

So this is the deal. From 10am until it gets too dark, on Sunday, January the 24th, I’m booking 15 minute photo sessions in front of Anomaly (1021 Park Street - 5 Points). No appointment needed…I’m taking walk-ins! All you have to do is write a check to the Yele Foundation or UNICEF (any amount…just give!)...I’ll have stamped envelopes already addressed to Yele or UNICEF…we’ll put the check in the envelopes…and then give you the envelope…yes, we’re using the honor system…you’ll be responsible for mailing the check! During that process, we’ll get your contact info so that we can deliver your images!

Whether you’re taking the plunge and need a wedding photographer, or just need some sick pics, Ezra Marcos is your man!

Christmas Break

closed for the holidays

It’s about that time. Christmas is only days away and the deadline for gift orders has past. We’re taking the week off to finish up some projects and spend time with our families. But don’t worry, we’ll be back in Oh Ten with exciting new stuff.

Once again, we’d like to thank all the artists who participated in the art show. If you haven’t seen the bags yet, you need to check them out. They are all one-of-a-kind so if you like it, you better grab it because once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Pics and deets from the art show.

This past Saturday we held our second annual BBB Complex Art Show. The weather wasn’t on our side but the turnout was phenomenal despite the rain. We partied pretty damn hard and made a hell of a mess (even for us) but that’s the way we like it! Thanks to everyone who came out and participated with us and especially those who took pictures. Congrats to our raffle winners and of course the artists who helped us create the most amazing bags we’ve ever seen. Several bags sold the night of the show but you can still get your hands on one through the online shop.

If you missed the event, you should definitely have a look at some of the great photosets out there. If you had half as much fun as we did, you might need the pics to refresh your memory a little.
