Dallas race this weekend
This ain’t no April Fool’s prank y’all. All our Texas homies in the DFW area should make it out to this event and ride like the eagle to win some fresh Burro swag! Thanks to Raul of PEDALLAS for organizing.

FL!
Yesterday an alarm on my phone went off - Pick up Andrew, Rick and Sean from St. Pete. The plan was to meet up with Team Burro’s Sean Coats and Rick Anderson along with Florida’s own Andrew Voegeli, drive them to Jacksonville and get some footage of them in a secret (read awesome) location. Sean didn’t make it and my van shit the bed last week on tour with Chicken & Whiskey so it all went to hell as the best-laid plans so often do. Good to see that Rick was able to escape the Midwest and spend some time shredding with Andrew down here in FLA. Here’s a promo photo they did for their frame sponsor Unknown Bike Co. (the one with actual cash to throw around haha). Next time dudes!

stolen bike
We don’t normally post stuff like this but DANG when it happens to one of our own, got to do something. With so much drama in the LBC, it’s kinda hard being Sean Coats when some turd steals your new Unkown set-up. Cali friends keep you peepers peeled for this whip and let us know if you spot it.
KILL ALL BIKE THIEVES!

new edit from Andrew
I’m a little late to the game on this one but our boy from St. Pete Andrew Voegeli put this edit out last week. Always on top!

Introducing the Burro Spring 2011 Messenger Collection
Spring is in the air y’all! Do you feel it? We sure as hell do. In fact, it’s almost starting to feel like Summer down here in Florida already. So what better way to celebrate the warming of the air and the lightening of the spirits than to roll out our new collection of handmade messenger bags?!
We’ve done a whole lot more than change the colorways this season. Here’s some highlights of the improvements we made to the new offerings:
Perhaps the biggest change we’ve made is the switch from upcycled billboard to vinyl on the interior of the bags. Using billboard allowed us to start our business and offer a cheap alternative to expensive messenger bags. Everything was going great and people seemed to really like the environmental aspect and the uniqueness of the material. We made it our mission to repurpose old billboard to keep them from sitting in landfills. Fortunately for the environment but unfortunately for our business model, the outdoor advertising industry switched to a new billboard material that biodegrades much faster and is no longer durable enough to make a quality liner out of. In light of this we’ve made the switch to a grey vinyl interior that makes our bags that much more rugged and looks really clean as well. It was a tough decision but we couldn’t be happier with the result. There are still a few old billboard bags including a handful from our 2010 Artist Series available for a discounted price in the online shop.
Our signature ergonomic padded strap is already the best there is but we just changed the game and made it even better. Every customer has a slightly different body type requiring finer micro-adjustments to achieve maximum comfort. To accomplish this we’ve made two significant improvements to our already superior strap. An additional adjustment at the shoulder allows finer comfort-control for both the petite and the big-boned. Our new strap is also removable and can now be switched from left to right slung. No longer do you poor lefties have to go the custom route to take advantage of the comfort of a Burro Messenger! Even the right-handed are able to switch back and forth to accommodate for fatigue or injury.
In addition to our Classic Black Bags and the ever-popular Brown and Black, we are rolling out 3 new seasonal colorways.
First up, the “Defender” is a fresh take on one of our favorite color combos. The Silver Cordura we used last season was a bit light and showed dirt too easily. We switched to a darker grey called Steel and the result is pretty, pretty SICK!
The “Diablo” is named for, well me - Jack Diablo. I’ve been trying to convince the boys and girls in the shop to get some Red Cordura in since I started and they’ve finally indulged me! This bag matches my bike but it will look great on any back, especially with a set of Panama Red Chronic Pedal Straps!

I don’t know if y’all watch the news or not but 2011 seems to be the year of the revolution. For better or worse, people around the world are rising up and demanding their rights. The "Comrade" is inspired by the actions of revolutionaries both past and present.

Times are tough, we get it. These days people need solutions as their wallets may or may not be shrinking in bulk. Just because you need to carry a bunch of stuff doesn’t mean you want the most tricked out custom messenger and just because you need a cheaper bag doesn’t mean you should sacrifice quality. Enter the Broke Ass, or re-enter as it were. The Broke Ass was one of the first Burro Messengers but at the time it was completely made of upcycled billboard and stripped down on options. It’s back now but this time with a Cordura exterior, vinyl interior and most of the standard options of our other bags. We’ve replaced our signature ergonomic padded strap with a simple, adjustable webbing strap that is removable and upgradable to the standard padded strap at any time. We’ve seen a lot of folks who are stoked on Burro and want a bag but end up wearing it over the shoulder as a satchel rather than across the back. If this sounds familiar then this bag is designed especially for you. And it’s under $100!

Sometimes MORE is more! I don’t know about y’all but I love extra pockets and features and all that jazz. To satisfy the OCD compartment-obsessed we are offering a Deluxe model Messenger with added Double Front Pockets and Bottom Compression Straps. If you like to keep it separated, the extra pockets will help you do just that. Compression straps come in mighty handy when you’re packing your bag full of books, a laptop, iPad or whatever by keeping everything firmly in place without shuffling around during transit.

We’ve posted a few models from the new collection in the online shop. We’ll be putting the entire set up in the coming weeks so check back often for updates. Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery as we settle in to the new stuff.

new collabo mixtape from Furoche
Furoche aka Zack Fortune is not only one gnarly Team Burro member, he’s our really good bud and an all-around awesome dude. When this Zombie isn’t touring with the Misfits driving Jerry Only and the crew around, he’s busy hustling and riding bikes like a pro. Despite one crazy lifestyle he’s been diligently working to get his clothing line up-and-running. Check out Sink or Swim to peep some of his stuff. When he came down to ride to NAHBS with us he hooked me up with one of those rad Bad to the Bone Maximized shirts. Lovin it!
On the road he let us sample this mixtape he had been working on and I asked him if we could get on it because it’s pretty damn awesome! Well it’s done now, posted on Soundcloud and downloadable for free.99. Also involved in the project are The Grime, Only Ones and Demons NYC. Go cop it or listen to it here. This things got samples from everything from Dirty Projectors to Fugazi to Shaq and of course some OFWGKTA.

preview of the new collection

Our Spring 2011 Collection of messenger bags is right around the corner. I initially said the drop would be March 15th, but with Chicken & Whiskey on the road for the next week and a half and seeing as how the 21st is the first day of Spring, figured that was as good a time as any to drop it right?
We’ve made a lot of improvements to our bags this season. There will be detailed info later but I just posted some bags to the online store that offer a sneak preview of what you can expect. These bags represent some of the prototypes we made as we finalized our offerings for next season. They are a mix of different options and therefore discounted from the regular Spring 2011 prices. The colorways are all random ones and most of the bags feature the last of the billboard we will be using (more on that later as well). In other words these are all one-off totally unique messengers. Everyone’s going to be rocking the new bags when they drop so why not get something different?
Things are going to be quiet for the next week or so but then expect to hear about lots of new and exciting developments all at once. Rest up suckers!
