Pedal Strap Low Down

September 08 2010 posted by Jack

pedal strap update

As previously mentioned, we decided to shake things up with the pedal strap line and we have a few updates for ya. Here’s the rundown on all the available lines…

Reggies

image

In case you haven’t noticed, we’ve changed the name of our basic pedal strap. Everybody knows Chronic is the way to go but sometimes when times are tight you gotta go with what’s in the budget. You’ll also notice that they are only available in black. Here at Burro we are committed to sourcing as much of, if not all of the materials that go into our products from manufacturers in the USA. As a result we’ve no choice but to drop the strap color options from the Reggie line.

image

That being said, we are making new Reggies with colored trim options. The catch is they will only be available at our retail locations. The only way to get them through the website is through the Black Bag Combo. Otherwise, you’ll have to let your local shop know they need to get with it and order some straps!

Limited Billboard Straps

image

Be sure to check out our latest run of Limited Billboard Straps. There are only a handful of these still available so don’t sleep on ‘em. New batches come out whenever we get billboard worth the limited treatment.

While we’re on the subject, check out the slick new packaging! All straps ship this way from now on. Kinda looks like we know what we’re doing!

Premium Seatbelt Straps

image

Nearly out of this run as we make way for the new Classic Premium Straps. These are the same great product as the Chronics but with the classic Burro logo. Grab a pair and see why everyone is raving about them. You’ll love the broken-in comfort and feel of the softer but stronger tubular webbing straps!

CHRONICS

Here’s where things get interesting. Very soon we will be rolling out our updated Chronic Premium Straps. For the most part not much will change but we’ve made some tweaks we’re sure you all will appreciate. Additionally, we’ll be coming out with limited version super-strains to join the already popular Black Gold, Grape Ape and Orange Kush varieties you guys (and gals) love so much. Dig hard enough (not that hard if you know where to look) and sneak a peak at the first limited run - Pineapple Trainwreck. If that don’t make your mouth water you might need to check your pulse.

Stay tuned!

How To Install (and Prolong) Burro Pedal Straps

September 08 2010 posted by Jack

how to video by Antonyo

We’ve been talking about doing an instructional video for the pedal straps for some time but I don’t think we could have done a better job than Antonyo did. He’s got a nice little trick for keeping your Chronic fresh too. Seems to be a little debate over who originally came up with the idea but either way you look at it, this will help keep any and all straps going for miles and miles (and Miles, haha). Class is in session kiddies. WATCH AND LEARN!

Straps Update

August 17 2010 posted by Jack

limited run pedal straps drop tomorrow

We’ve been getting some feedback lately on the newest premium pedal straps, the CHRONICS. It’s come to our attention that while many of you are stoked on the Gnar logo, there are those of you out there who want the premium Burro Pedal Strap but prefer a cleaner, simpler strap. We have heard your cries and tomorrow we’ll be releasing a limited number of a new Premium design. Which works because we’ve sold out of the CHRONICS anyway.

In light of this, we’ll be going back to the drawingboard with the CHRONIC Straps. They will be way more design and style-focused than the classic Premiums which will drop around the same time.

In the meantime, check back tomorrow evening for the new straps to become available. They are the same quality (even better actually) than the CHRONICS and look super-clean.

Keep It Wheel

August 07 2010 posted by Jack

guess we got us some printing to do!

So apparently Prolly found the good ol’ Keep It Wheel 2.0 image floating around Tumblr yesterday and wrote this post on it. Somehow, he didn’t know that the design is the second iteration of one of our oldest and most popular tees, designed and re-designed by our very own JOB. Guess we need to do a little better job of getting it out there. Unfortunately we haven’t been printing many t-shirts lately. We screen em all by hand, in case you didn’t know. But in light of this we’ll definitely be printing some more real soon and probably throwing it on a few more limited bags. I know we will have tank tops within the next couple of weeks and should have some regular tees soon as well. We’ll keep you posted. Accept no substitutes!

Video Break: Miles Mathia 3 Days in NYC

July 28 2010 posted by Jack

WRAHW edit with MM

Our boy Miles has to be one of the illest yet most unsung freestyle riders on the scene. Being from the sleepy college town of Gainesville, FL, he doesn’t get the same exposure as kids up in NYC or the West Coast but that details like that didn’t prevent him from taking a little trip up north (despite the rare temperature inversion) and hooking up with Torey of WRAHW to introduce himself to the world. Boy can’t stop, won’t stop.  So without further ado, Team Burro’s Miles Mathia…

Bumstead Bicycles Prize Bag

cool prize bag

This past weekend our new buds at Bumstead Bicycles in Ontario, CA through this fried chicken-themed event. As we love taking care of our retail partners and supporting bike events of all types, we fried up this one-of-a-kind messenger for them. The pics are a little small but you get the idea.

I suppose I should take some time to outline our philosophy on sponsoring races and events. We love helping you guys out and expanding the awareness of our brand but there are some considerations we keep in mind when selecting what we want to sponsor. First off, if we do sponsor your event we will come through. Not with a sticker pack or a t-shirt but a product of some sort. Depending on the scope of your event, how well you publicize it, number of attendees and whether we simply like the idea or theme will affect whether you get something from stock or a custom one-off to commemorate the event. Honestly, we prefer doing the special bags but they aren’t cheap and they aren’t easy so the bigger your event and the more lead time you give us, the better the chances of getting something truly ill. We are still a small company struggling in these rough economic times so unfortunately we can’t help everybody so when you request Burro sponsorship be sure to give us your best pitch and let us know how sponsoring your event will help us in the end. I recommend you check out this Urban Velo article if you plan on soliciting sponsors for your next event. really good stuff.

Keep It Wheel!
