WE ARE BURRO. WE MAKE BAGS, GEAR AND APPAREL FOR CONQUERING THE URBAN JUNGLE. ONE THING WE DON'T MAKE IS JUNK. ALL OF OUR SEWN PRODUCTS ARE MADE IN OUR JACKSONVILLE, FL SHOP BY FOLKS MUCH LIKE YOURSELF. EVEN OUR MATERIALS ARE MADE IN THE USA. BURRO REFLECTS TRUE CRAFTSMANSHIP AND UTILITY - JUST WHAT YOU'D EXPECT FROM A QUALITY HANDMADE PRODUCT. WHETHER YOU DO IT ON A BIKE, SKATEBOARD, WITH A GUITAR OR A PAINT CAN, BURRO GEAR HELPS YOU TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL.

BURRO has been in the business of making quality, handmade messenger bags, backpacks, gear and apparel for cyclists and all aspects of the urban lifestyle since 2007.

The first prototype was constructed in a Springfield house combining Chris Williams' experience as an upholsterer and Matt Bort's days as a messenger and bike mechanic. After experimenting with a variety of materials, the pair decided to pursue the use of re-purposed highway billboard, satisfying the needs of both durability and affordability with the added benefit of being environmentally-conscious. Locally, the outdoor advertising industry recently switched to less durable but more eco-friendly material. Good for the environment, bad for making weatherproof bags. Since then, BURRO has focused on making high quality products using the best materials, all American-sourced and as local as possible. We still use billboard occasionally.

One day while hanging out at the shop, JOB got the idea to create a foot retention system out of materials Burro was already using. In that moment the BURRO Pedal Strap was born and JOB assumed the title of Pedal Strap Wizard. BURRO is now one of the leading brands and most trusted names in FGFS. We sponsor some of the biggest names from all over the world.

BURRO now occupies The Letter Shop in Downtown Jacksonville. The new location is home to our retail storefront, Budget Records and the BURRO production facilities.

In May of 2011, BURRO entered into a joint venture with our good friends Ian, Marianne and Matt of Shantytown Pub to open Burro Bar right around the corner from our headquarters. With an impressive sound system and 20 beers on tap, Burro Bar is Downtown Jacksonville's premiere destination for live independent music. Stop by for a beer or to catch a show if you're even in Jacksonville.
